Happy New Year!
Congratulations to those couples who have become engaged over Christmas and New Year, for 2015 brides this is the start to an exciting time full of planning and celebration. Many magical moments ahead for those expecting their little bundles of joy this year and many of us are looking forward to other adventures that are to come.
The beginning of a new year is a great time to make positive changes that will make us happier and healthier. We start the year with a renewed focus, a plan and a super hero level of motivation. Last year I found myself swept away with a constant wave of responsibility, tasks and duties, balancing the needs of my family with that of a new business. I needed to find a way of caring for my own wellbeing and to keep myself energized and focused on juggling deadlines and activities and that’s when I decided to find an exercise program that would help me to find that balance.
At the end of 2014 I completed a 6 week beginners course in yoga, an experience that lead me to adopt the practice of yoga into my daily routine and has helped me to maintain my mental and physical energy over the past few months. As a professional wedding and family portrait photographer based in Milton Keynes my clients are often first time parents and brides to be and so I decided to write this blog as a recommendation for all my clients and anyone with a resolution to make more time for themselves this year. Stony Stratford is an historic market town in Milton Keynes and the yoga studios are located on the high street in a beautiful tranquil setting.
For brides to be, yoga is a great exercise for toning and trimming, (in my first class we were all very excited about the prospect of yoga arms) but also for calming, relaxation and maintaining that inner glow throughout the planning process. For mums to be and new mums, prenatal and baby yoga offers the perfect way to prepare and nurture our bodies before and after childbirth as well as a great place to meet new friends that can offer support during this unique journey of parenthood.
The White Space Yoga Studio in Stony Stratford is where my yoga practice started and the moment I stepped into their tranquil sanctuary after a busy few days of juggling work, a new business, home and family life, I knew that this is what I needed to improve my physical and mental well being and keep up that new year positivity. There are many classes and courses to chose from and price packages that suit busy lives.
